Mark King with Gary Husband

I just got the Mark King DVD with Gary Husband on drums. Although I've heard some of Gary's work, mostly the Level 42 stuff, I have never seem him play. Wow! Not only tight and in the pocket, but we should call him "Mr. Single Stroke". He does some outstanding single stroke fills around the set at this show that are fantastic. This is also the first time I have seen Mark King play live and what a musician! How he plays what he plays and sings at the same time is beyond me. Seeing that and watching these guys go flawlessly from tune to tune showed how much Gary was in control of the moment and doesn't miss anything.

There was a thread a while back where folks here put in their fave GH recordings input, & GH himself listed his preferred...altho I'm sorry to say that I'm remiss as to the topic title...do a search & you may find it.

I'm mostly familiar w the Allan stuff, & Gary has since put out a substantial amount of newer stuff that I will hopefully eventually get to check out...but I am a huge fan of that AH stuff [img]wink.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img] [img]cool.gif[/img]

The DVD is titled: Mark King in concert. Filmed at a tv studio in Germany and released in 2001. I found it on EBAY.

Actually the newest DVD with that band is Level 42 Live At The Apollo, and that's only one I'm quite pleased with, and actually quite proud of. If there's one of me at all with L42 that's the only one. The TV show DVD you refer to (from Germany) for me is just dreadful - performance and sound - and I'd like to advise nobody make any kind of effort to see that, personally.

Thanks for the heads up Gary on the Level 42 dvd. Don't sell yourself too short on the Mark King DVD. Yeah the mix needed help but you did an outstanding job and it was a fun watch. We are our own worst critics.....
